Home Decor Fabrics

Interior design is more than just how your rooms look. Thoughtful interior design should be curated to create an ambience, whether that ambience is a casual living room, a chic bedroom, or a formal dining room. Shades and draped valances give rooms softness, while minimalistic Roman shades and straight-edged valances give contemporary interiors a level of formality. The Shade Shop provides interior design consultations to help homeowners bring their own personal style to their interiors. Our fabrics include those of the Hunter Douglas Design Studio™, Greenhouse Fabrics®, and Lafayette Interior Fashions™ in order to create unique draperies, swags, valances, Roman shades, curtains, custom slipcovers, duvet covers, decorative pillows, and other home accents.

Why Fabric Matters

Everyone has a scratchy sweater that shoved in the back of their closets. Fabrics that itch, bunch, and otherwise don’t lay right don’t appeal to us. Interior design fabrics are no different. Pattern, color, and texture are key parts to interior design, and fabric can encompass all three. Window treatment fabric can be rough from the ridges of woven woods or smooth like silk. The velvet of drapes gives them their sleek, luxurious look, while curtain fabric is lighter and airier. The colorful prints of roller shades give them their casual feel, and upholstery fabrics should be easy to clean and able to withstand the wear and tear of use. Custom bedding should be fashionable but functional-hence, the reason why there are no “woven wood” comforters. Fabric, therefore, is an essential element to consider when planning and decorating your interiors. We carry a wide selection of fabrics for customers to browse in order to best serve their needs.

Hunter Douglas Design Studio™

The Hunter Douglas Design Studio™ line includes side panels, drapery, roller shades, and Roman shades in exclusive fabrics with designs by textile experts like Rebecca Atwood, Marcie Bronkar, and Seema Krish. Hunter Douglas features eight of Atwood’s designs, inspired by the artist’s own watercolor sketches and meant to be easily layered with other Hunter Douglas window treatments. Her designs of irregular prints and stripes are inspired by nature and meant evoke calm.  Marcie Bronkar’s designs are reminiscent of period pieces, “historical design in a modern way”. She used natural lighting to deepen and enhance her ideas, taken from Mexican pottery pieces, 17th century embroidered shawls, classic English patterned silk, and more. Seema Krish drew upon global designs, using vivid colors, patterns, and textures that evoke feelings of wanderlust. Connect to the world that lays outside your home with soft nature prints, soothing waves, and playful lines with traditional Japanese and Indonesian dyed colors.
